"Serial number 12244. Made in 1874. 45 LC with a 7 ½" barrel. This has an even brown patina. Grips are original. This gun was issued to the State of Virginia. The State of Virginia sold the entire shipment to a surplus dealer. Most of these guns were sold out west. Accompanying this gun is a letter of authentication from noted Colt expert John Kopec. Mr. Kopec notes numerous alterations to this gun. Attractive gun with some restoration!
