Description:
24 inch full octagon barrel chambered in 44 WCF caliber. Rifle features the desirable octagon barrel with full magazine and rifle style butt configuration. Original sights include a sporting rear with blade front. Very good bright shiny bore with strong rifling. Crisp action. Barrel and mag retain most original blue that is thinning. Sharp corners and good markings. The side plates as well as 3/4 of the receiver have been cleaned long ago and is starting to turn a gray patina. Butt plate looks about the same. The wood is in good condition with only minor usage mars. Still retains most of the original varnish. A good gun to restore back to its former glory. The Winchester Model 1873, the gun that won the west.
