This Model 70 was manufactured in 1986 and I am the origin onwer. This was the first year that Winchester brought out the XTR in 6.5 x 55 and the only year, I believe, that had factory 'iron sights'. The 6.5 x 55 is a great classic cartridge that can hold its' own against any of the new comers on the scene. (6.5 Creedmore, 260 Rememington). There have only been 6 shots fired through this piece so I would be inclined to say the bore is in like new condition. There are a few small handling marks, which I have tried to pick up in the photos. The wood on this piece is nice, but nothing out of the ordinary. The metal work is pretty much 'as new'.
