"Made circa 1860. 38 caliber with a 40" barrel. Very interesting gun with German silver inlays. Action works well. Metal has an even brown patina. Wood is very good. The top of the barrel is marked “W. M. Bynam" A previous collector identified this as south Carolina school, but we could not identify it as such or even a gunsmith by the name of William Bynam. Very nice well made percussion half stock rifle!
