This is the ubiquitous, non-gyroscopically stabilized British aircraft gunsight, as used on the Supermarine Spitfire and Hawker Hurricane fighters during the Battle of Britain, with the early rounded reflector plate. The sight has extensive Air Ministry markings, adjustment collars for range and convergence, an intact bakelite illuminator housing, and power cord with triple-prong plug. Additionally, the "nose breaker" cushioned pad is intact and still fitted to the front face of the sight housing. The projector assembly has some foreign material under the outer lens, there is some minor flaking of the reticle plate, and the wire is frayed where it enters the housing. The sight is housed in an original wooden case with green felt-lined spacers. This is a fabulous piece of WW2 RAF history, and is in fine condition.
