This is an early Harrington & Richardson Model 922 1st model variation manufactured ffrom1927-1930 featuring a saw handled grip, gold plated front sight and gold-filled markings on the barrel advertised as being part of H&R's “Gold Front Sight Line." This early specimen is serial numbered lower that Bill Goforth has listed #125270 as the earliest known number in his H&R Arms Co. book page 212. The metal surfaces of this handsome revolver retain about 98% original bright blue showing just a few tiny freckles along the barrel and cylinder along with a couple other minor handling marks. The hammer shows somewhat muted smoky case-hardening and all markings remain intact and crisp, they show a gold-tone fill and the front sight blade is also gold-washed. The checkered walnut “saw handle" grips remain in excellent condition showing some areas of slightly worn finish along the edges, they are stamp-numbered “727" and their fit to the frame is excellent. An excellent, very early model 922 that would be hard to improve upon and will be an outstanding addition for the advanced H&R collector.
