This Colt Lightning Sheriffs Model letters as being shipped to P. Moran Charleston South Carolina shipped on November 9, 1886 in a shipment of 3. The gun letters correctly with a factory 2 1/2” barrel and nickel finish. 2 1/2” sheriff models are but hard to come by at times. This example retains approximately 75% nickel finish. The etched panel is light but still visible. The grips are excellent. Some of the original nitre blue can be seen on the hammer and trigger. Mechanically works well. A nice honest Lightning with a somewhat unique shipping destination! Shipping is $20 plus actual insurance.
