This Remington Model 1917 barrel date is 5-18. The rifle's serial number is 422864. The original Remington barrel has sharp lands with a slightly dark bore. All of the parts are correctly Remington Coded. This also includes the Bolt. The stock is also Remington coded. There is no import or arsenal rebuild stamps. The only part that is not Remington is the bolt stop. That part is by Eddystone. Eddystone is owned By Remington and also produced Model 1917 rifles for the government. Eddystone and Remington did exchange parts with each other when there was a shortage of parts during production. This was done to keep production going smoothly. This rifle has all of the original finish intact. The wood also has the finish intact. The stock and hand guards have no damage or cracks. The wood has a great look to itself. The action works smoothly The ejector spring is intact. The rear sight is all Remington and works great. The front sight is also Remington. The model 1917 bayonet is by Winchester. The blade has no damage or been sharpened. The bayonet has been arsenal redipped to give it a new finish. The scabbard is a correct original as issued scabbard, This is a very nice good looking Remington Model 1917 military issued rifle that has survived in original condition when assembled in 1918! This rifle will be fun to shoot as well as being a military collector grade firearm,
