Description:
Excellent condition with clear stamps on the lockplate and 80% blue finish. 8.5” round barrel. Stock is solid and shows visible cartouche stamps. Can see a "P" stamp on the barrel. Mechanically functions half and full cock. Adopted in 1836, the production continued until 1844, and this flintlock pistol intended for Cavalry was used in the Mexican / American Civil War. A total of almost 41,000 units were produced before being replaced by the M-1842 Percussion pistol. Many flintlock pistols were later converted to percussion, just like this one. An excellent addition and rare opportunity to Enhanse any Military Collection
