We offer you a “Very Fine” J. P. Sauer & Sohn Side Lock Drilling Chambered in 16x16/8x57JR manufactured in 1915.
The drilling features a silver or platinum tipped front sight and hinged rear sight on the matted rib with claw mounts for a scope which is no longer with the gun. The 26 ¾ inch barrels all have excellent bores with no issues. The shotgun barrels are each marked on the top "J.P.SAUER & SOHN, SUHL" and have 2 9/16 inch chambers with an extractor. The bottom of the rifle barrel is marked with the serial number 213322 and 7.8mm with proof marks as shown. The bluing on the barrels shows thinning with a few minor dents in the shotgun barrels. There are no signs of pitting on any of the barrels. The receiver features engraved game scenes as shown. The forearm is marked “322” and in very fine condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. The butt stock shows several marks and dings from use but shows no chips, cracks or repairs. It features the original butt plate with an engraved steel hinged cartridge trap that holds four rounds. The rifle is tight and functions just fine.
