Description:
This is an excellent original example of a World War II Mauser manufactured "BYF43" P-38 pistol. It is all matching besides the grip panels, and all of the factory stamps and Waffenamts and clear and legible. This pistol retains much of its original blue finish but does show signs of high edge wear, scattered handling marks, and the occasional spot of patina. The bore in this P-38 is bright, with sharp rifling, and shows no signs of pitting. The grips were most likely replaced in the field and consist of a rare late-war Durofol left grip panel and a WWII Walther P-38 right grip panel. This BYF43 P-38 functions 100% including the de-cocker. All of the controls work as they were designed to and the action on this pistol is smooth and locks up tight. It comes with one original "P.38v" marked magazine. If you have been looking for a clean BYF43 P-38 for your WW2 pistol collection, this example would be a great addition.
