The Model 21 is an American icon with a well-deserved reputation. A handsome gun built with the finest steels, gunners in the know have utilized this Winchester in the field and at the club to shoot thousands of rounds without failure. IF YOU LIKE HEAVY LOADS FOR PHEASANTS OR OTHER TOUGH GAME, SHOOT HIGH VOLUME BIRDS OR CLAYS, THIS IS YOUR GUN! With only 30,000 produced (compared to 250,000 Parkers!), any high condition Model 21 is a valuable, investment quality firearm. Search the internet and you will see lots of 12ga. guns for sale. Sixteen-gauge M21 guns were made in fewer numbers than the 20ga. guns, so finding Model 21 guns in 16ga. is not an easy task. When you do, they are usually heavy guns with a single selective trigger, beavertail forearm, and skeet chokes. Most that you see have been restored with modern finishes that look like the receiver has been painted black and not done to factory specifications. This M21 16ga. special order Field Grade, sn6953 made in 1938, is a very different M21, as it has two triggers, a splinter forend, ejectors, and 28” barrels choked M/F. WHAT A GREAT PHEASANT GUN WE HAVE HERE! This configuration and the very light weight of 6lbs. 8oz. provide the classic upland bird gun that is racy to look at and a pleasure to carry over hill and dale. Keep in mind that most Model 21 guns in 16ga. weigh closer to 7lbs. and are not pleasant to carry all day in tough terrain. This odd combination of features (for a Model 21 anyway) make for a very rare configured Model 21. These details are what make this gun different from any being offered for sale. This gun matches the Cody Firearms Museum letter to the “T”, and if you read the Cody letter THIS GUN WAS FACTORY RESTORED TO NEW IN 1981 AND REMAINS IN NEW CONDITION. The gun is mechanically perfect with well-timed ejectors, crisp trigger pulls, barrels tight on the breech face and hinge pin like a new gun, screws all excellent, no cracks in the wood, perfect checkering and wood to metal fit. The metal is 100% with proper factory correct finishes. The gun is priced right for such a unique and desirable Model 21, and she will make the ultimate upland gun for you with plenty of time left to hunt the gun this season.
