Description:
This is a really nice California Bull-Dog 44 Bull Dog centerfire and was sold by Shreve & Wolf San Francisco 1880-1886. It retains 89% original nickel finish and the mechanical function is very good crisp and tight. The bore is excellent bright and shiny with strong rifling. The serial number is 20 marked under the grips and on the rear of the cylinder. It is marked ELG with a star in an oval, the early Belgium black powder proof mark. The grips are crisp gutta purcha with a molded floral and a bearded classical face.
