Description:
The most Art Deco firearm ever produced. A highly desirable late production Savage M1917, new in the box and, in the seldom found .380 ACP cartridge.
Wide grip variant with narrow, twenty-eight groove finger serrations at the rear of the slide. This piece was manufactured and shipped in late September of 1927, notable as production at the Savage Arms Corporation ceased early in 1928 when the very last piece was produced.
The pistols features include fixed sights, external hammer, double stacked magazine and checkered Savage Indian head logo embossed grips. This was also the only variant in which the grips were retained by use of grip screws.
Shows the two line address, caliber and 1905 patent date marking upon the top of the slide.
Complete in the box with the original bill of sale, instructions, guarantee certificate, cleaning brush and protective wax paper. This complete original set cannot be improved.
In new condition, pistol retaining 99.99% original finish. Grips are excellent with crisp checkering. Excellent, new bore and mechanics.
The box remains in very good condition with an early tape repair applied to the rear lid seam and half of the lids front lip missing. The box remains firm and in stable condition and is hand numbered to the piece on the tops CAUTION label. Has both side labels; the white model and the green Savage Arms.
