This rifle was produced in 1944. The rifle's serial number is 1268bb. The dou code stands for Brunn A.G. Waffen Werke Bystrica. It has the standard 24 inch barrel chambered for the 8 M/M Mauser service round. The bore is in minty condition. This rifle shows very little service use or wear. This rifle is also matched serial numbers. This includes the Bolt and bolt parts. This rifle is not fitted for a cleaning rod. The front sight hood is intact. The rear sight is also serial numbered to this rifle. The stock is bare of any markings or serial numbers. This is correct for this company in 1944 production. The original bluing is intact. The original bluing would rate a98% or better condition. The laminated stock is in very fine condition with the original surface finish intact. This rifle is not a duffle bag cut gun. The top handguard is correctly unmarked. The trigger housing has all of the retaining screws intact. The housing is correctly coded for dou production. The sling is an original German issued sling in very fine condition. This is a very fine original condition war time 98K that has survived the war in original unaltered condition.
