Description:
We have a beautiful piece of history with the ubiquitious Tower Brown Bess / India Short Land 3rd Pattern. This model was made bwtween 1797-1854. You cannot call yourself a collector and not know the Brown Bess.
The lock is marked Tower at the rear of the lock with the crown mark engraved to the right of the cock. The flintlock is tight and functioning with no known pieces absent or damaged. It is approximately .75 caliber with a 39" barrel. The ramrod seems to be original with the barrel and stock retaining a deep dark historic patina. The barrel does have Birmingham proofs on the top of the barrel with some pitting about the actual lock from usage. The stock has normal handling marks with all original furnture.
This is a wonderful example of this Brown Bess pattern and would make a tremendous addition to any collection.
