Colt Dragoon This "US" marked martial Colt Dragoon, Manufactured in Hartford Connecticut in 1860 serial number 189xx, is cut for shoulder stock attachment and has the three position carbine sight on the barrel. It is one of the last Dragoons to have the improved horizontal latch on the rammer arm, which was changed in the early 17000 range. Manufactured in 1860, this gun was almost certainly carried during the Civil War and apparently saw use. It has a fine, untouched brown patina, original one piece walnut grips. Serial numbers, on the Frame Backstrap and Trigger Guard 18943 and on the Cylinder Barrel Loading Lever including the barrel wedge is 18944 only one digit difference the last digit. It has a perfectly functioning action and it locks up tight. There were only about 1,500 shoulder stocked Dragoons manufactured .
