CIVIL WAR COLT PATENT FIREARMS MFG. CO. U.S. MODEL 1861 RIFLE MUSKET. 40” rifled .58 cal. barrel with U.S. Ordnance proofs at the breech as well as Ordnance Sub-Inspector “E.P.R.” initials. All original and fine except ramrod which is a good aged modern replacement. Excellent Colt markings on lock plate and dated “1864” on both lock and barrel. Visible cartouche on stock. Metal with nice original patina and stock with original patina. Excellent working order and particularly nice excellent plus bright bore with fine rifling.
