SCARCE, MOUNTAIN CARBINE, WAFFEN FABRIKEN BRUNN, G33/40, CAL. 8MM, SER.2791a. CODE 945, MFG. 1940. DURING WWII THE NAZIS MADE LARGE SHIPMENTS OF GUNS TO ITS ALLY ROMANIA. THIS SCARCE GUN WAS PART OF ONE OF THEM. IT WAS ULTIMATELY REFURBISHED BY ROUMANIA AND EXPORTED TO THE US. IT RETAINS ABOUT 95+% OF THE ARSENAL BLUE. THE BULK OF THE LOSS IS DUE TO SHARP EDGE SILVERING AND SOME LIGHT SCATTERED PIN PRICKS. THE RECEIVER, BARREL, TRIGGER GROUP, AND STOCK MATCH. THE BOLT IS ALSO PROPERLY STAMPED 7631, AND THE CHARACTER FONT IS CORRECT. HOWEVER THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME LIGHT BUFFING IN THAT AREA THAT COULD RAISE A QUESTION **, THERE ARE THREE BARELY PERCEIVABLE NAZI WAFFENAMTS ON THE STOCK AND ONE ON THE SLIDE RAIL. THE MATCHING STOCK IS THE SCARCE EARLY 3 PIECE TYPE. THE TOP HANGUARD HAS 3 HAIRLINE SPLITS THAT WERE ARSENAL REPAIRED. THE REST OF THE STOCK IS JUST FINE. THE SLIDE RAILS, BOLT FACE AND FEED RAMP SHOW LITTLE USE. THE BORE IS MIRROR BRIGHT WITH RAZOR SHARP RIFLING AND A WHISP OF FROST. IT COMES WITH ONE ORIGINAL CLEANING ROD. FOR THE COLLECTOR WHO WANTS A REALLY NICE EXAMPLE OF "HITLER'S SCARCE MOUNTAIN CARBINE" AND DOESN'T WANT SELL THE FARM TO GET IT, IT IS VERY MODESTLY PRICED ....$2395.*
