Description:
S O L D ...................1811 not 1812....LAYAWAY? .69 caliber. 44.5" barrel length. SN: NSN. Metal finish in the white with full length walnut stock and three barrel bands. Single shot Springfield flintlock musket following the 1795 pattern. The left barrel shows a "US" proof marking while the lockplate has been signed US/{American Eagle}/SPRINGFIELD with a date of 1811 appearing at the rear lock. The item has been reconverted to flint with the pan cut and installed. The lock consists of a modern jaw screw and modern cast cock, along with a replacement frizzen spring. Sling swivels are not present.
Condition:
Reconversion is Good-VG. Bore is Dark with patina and some patched oxidation throughout. The overall metal finish shows a bright buffed finish with patina starting to form along the surface of the barrel and lock. The stocks has rounded edges indicative of sanding and refinishing. The left butt has been dished in, for more aimimng comfort. Stock shows handling wear, mars, and operating wear from the cock. The action is strong. 2nd Firearm/Sword ships FREE with this musket....
