Here is an excellent condition Winchester Model 70 Classic Featherweight chambered in .243 Winchester that has been well cared for by the original owner. This is NOT a Portugal manufactured Model 70, this is a New Haven, CT manufactured Winchester Model 70. Winchester stopped US production of the Model 70 in 2006 and moved manufacturing to Portugal. The US made Model 70 Classic featured a Pre-64 style action with controlled round feeding. This particular Model 70 is chambered in .243 Winchester and features a 22" barrel, 5 shot magazine, controlled round feeding action, bedded action, checkered walnut stock, jeweled bolt, and knurled bolt handle. The blued finish across the rifle is in excellent condition overall with the exception of a small handful of scattered handling marks along the barreled action and bolt handle. The checkered walnut stock is in equally as excellent condition with no signs of cracks, chips, or repairs, just various superficial handling marks. The bore is bright, with sharp rifling, and the jeweled bolt shows very light signs of wear. The top of the action does show extremely light signs of a scope being mounted and the holes have had filler screws installed by the original owner. This would make an outstanding deer or antelope rifle for a hunter or any age.
