This carbine is a early production Rock-Ola carbine. The Rock-Ola barrel date is 4-43. The carbine's serial number is 1682389. The bore is bright and clean. The sights are original to this carbine. All of the parts are correctly coded for this gun for the serial number range and time frame. These parts also show wear consistant with each other. The "I" stock has the correct RMC in a box with the ordnance crossed cannons. The action works correctly and locks up snug. This gun does show honest service use and wear. The original metal finish is intact but faded. There is no cracks or damage to the stock or forend. The magazine is also Rock-Ola coded. This gun also comes with a canvass carry case by Shane - 1944 date. Rock-Ola is one of the rare carbines as there were only 228,500 produced. That makes 3.7% of the total war time production of these carbines. Of that number very few were fitted with the early "I" stocks. To find an original as issued Rock-Ola that has not been through the various government rebuild programs or restoration projects is a real find!
