Description:
***SOLD*** Tower Enfield 1862 Percussion Rifled Musket. This model of rifle was a US Import for the Union during the Civil War, and used extensively throughout the war. This rifle features a full length walnut stock with a brass butt plate, trigger guard and forearm cap, as well as three steel barrel bands, original ram rod, and a long-range capable rear sight fixture. The rifle has a Tower lock, dated 1862, with the British crown emblem without the VR, which is correct for a US Import service rifle from this era. No visible import marking can be seen on the barrel. The rifle is in good overall condition considering its' age, with finish speckling throughout the barrel and other steel surfaces, however very little evidence of deep pits. The lock is in great working order with a solid half and full cock notch lock, and the nipple is in great shape with no deformation and a clear channel. The bore still retains its rifling, with some dull spots in areas, however there is a good bit of shiny surface throughout. As shown in the photos, the front sight has sustained some damage and deformation. The rifle appears to be all original and appears to have all of its correct parts. Please refer to the photos to further assess the condition of the rifle. A wonderful collectible in great condition for its' age! No FFL required. Shipping $100.00 / UPS
