Here's a model 42 almost 70 years old and still looks almost new ! I've looked this little guy over inside and out, can't find a flaw.
This is a really good looking 42 and has been taken care of really well. The wood and blue are both excellent.
It has a 28 inch full choke barrel, 3" chamber, made in 1955. It's the smoothest operating 42 I've ever owned.
I think this gun has spent most of it's years is a safe. I've had it a long time and it's been in a humidity controlled room.
Bottom line is just that this is one fine Winchester !
