Description:
Marked on the side plates is "George and John Deane". The hammers are marked "Deane patent 561" which is the serial number. Overall gun is in fairly good condition with a fair amount of wear to the checkering. Nice Walnut stock. Steel shotgun style buttplate. Overall gun appears to have been cleaned. Barrels have traces of Damascus showing and are basically a nickel color. Locks, hammers and upper tang are beautifully engraved but also have been cleaned slightly and are a gunmetal grey color with some lacquer having been put on the wood as well as the lock plates. Double triggers. 30 inch barrels. Fitted in an oak case with correct makers label still in place. Overall gun in generally good condition with a great engraving on the upper tang. Very crisp action. Nice gun!
