Description:
Guns Listing ID: 351544 The Smith and Wesson model 29 is one of the most iconic guns in American history. Known as the original Dirty Harry these guns are one that every firearm collector should own. What makes this gun special is the 6 1/2 inch barrel on this four screw variation. This Model 29 has no dash and we went through the Smith and Wesson historical foundation to find out the origins. As you can see in the pictures below this firearm will include all of the paperwork that we received from Smith and Wesson. This Firearm was shipped out to the legendary gun smith Jesse E. Harpe from Tampa, Florida. Known for his modifications to 1911's he was published multiple times in the American Rifleman magazine. Harpe, however was also a Smith and Wesson dealer and this revolver left the Smith and Wesson Factory on February 11, 1959. It was shipped with a red ramp front sight, but this has been changed over time. We do not have the box or the original grips for this revolver, but aside from minor pitting on the cylinder and a scratch on the front of the barrel this revolver is in very good condition. We believe the grips that are currently on this firearm are Ivory, the date on the inside of the grip is 1981 so this falls before the 1990 ban on ivory. Don't wait because this piece of American history will not be here long. PLEASE LOOK AT THE PICTURES TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE CONDITION OF THIS FIREARM.
