Description:
Serial #S81879, 38 Special, 6 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a very nice five-screw revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor and retains 92-95% of the original blue finish with some silvering at the muzzle, along a the high edges and projections, as well as a turn-ring on the rear of the cylinder. The trigger and wide spur, short action hammer retain a commensurate amount of the original color case-hardening with the balance faded to a dark, pewter gray patina. The grips are numbered to the gun on the interior, and are in fine shape with very little wear or flattening of the points. The lock-up is tight and the action functions flawlessly. This is a great mid-20th century N-frame S&W in fine condition, and would make a wonderful addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
