Description:
Serial #AX524021, .22 LR, 28" heavy barrel with a bright excellent bore. The is the H&R Model 12 rifle made to the same military specifications as the Winchester Model 52 and known at the company as “M12 JROTC" manufactured from 1981 to 1986 and is the military version of the model 5200 civilian target rifle. These were purchased by the military in the early 1980's for training and marksmanship practice. The metal surfaces retain about 98-99% original blue showing a couple of sparsely scattered very tiny dings and a few errant mild freckles. The bolt body remains bright and all markings remain intact and strong with “U.S." stamped above the serial number. The rear sight assembly screw head shows a little slot wear. The walnut stained target stock remains in very good condition showing a few moderate dents and dings mostly along the right side and some other smaller handling marks to be expected. The original grooved red rubber H&R logo buttpad is present along with large rear swivel and two target blocks on the barrel. The rifle is sighted with Lyman 52 Extension rear sight (no aperture disc) and Lyman 77H target globe front sight with large aperture insert and the action seems to function well mechanically. A great, well equipped target rifle for the shooter and collector. FFL
