Description:
Serial #242, .45 ACP, 5" barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some trace freckling within the grooves. This is a very early, production pistol that retains about 92-95% of the original dark blue finish that has developed some mild plum-brown freckling on the balance, especially within the slide serrations. There is some silvering along the high edges, as well as some gray fading along the mainspring housing. The barrel is correct with only a "P" stamp on the right side of the lug, and the other small parts are also correct. The checkered, double-diamond grips are in fine shape, with only minor wear and flattening of the points. The pistol is accompanied by a correct, two-tone, flat-based magazine with pinned base as well. This is a splendid example of a desirable Rem-UMC Model 1911, in excellent condition, and would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
