Description:
Serial #34190, 12mm PF, 3 1/2" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This is a well made, license-built revolver that has a predominantly plum-brown patina on the "V. COLLETTE / LIEGE" and "E. LEFAUCHEUX / (???) BREVETE" marked barrel, and lightly engraved cylinder. The frame has deep relief engraved vine and leaf scrollwork, with a mixed brown and bright gray patina. The hammer and folding trigger have a similar patina, while the ejector rod has a bright gray color from use. The contoured ebony grips have a matching carved floral scroll motif, and are in very good condition: intact, with some noticeable wear to the high edges and projections. The lock-up is firm, and the action is fully functional. Victor Collette was a well known and respected Liege gunmaker, and his firm remained in operation from 1836 – 1909. This is a very good-fine example of a high quality Lefaucheux pocket revolver, and would make a great addition to any collection. Antique
