Description:
"Jezaille “Khyber Pass" rifle. The name of these well-known rifles comes from their use by the Afghan tribesmen that occupied the Khyber Pass and commanded the trade route known as “The Silk Road". The pass fell in and out of various groups over many years such as: Ottoman Empire, British and others. They are reconized by their form and decoration of Mother of Pearl inlays. They are often found with British Brown Bess lock plates. This gun has an Indian pattern lock plate with prancing lion and dated “1816". Barrel length 39½" and 54" overall length. Hammer spring and frizzen spring are weak. Gun is otherwise very striking.
