ORIGINAL FINE CIVIL WAR NORWICH U.S. MODEL 1861 RIFLE MUSKET. 40” round .58 cal. rifled barrel with U.S. Ordnance “V/P/EAGLE HEAD” proof at left breech. Original front and rear sights. Lock plate stamped “U.S. /NORWICH” and date stamped 1865. Barrel tang with regimental rack stamp “E/50”. 100% original and fine. Has light handling patina on metal which has very crisp edges. Stock excellent with use and remnant of cartouche visible. Perfect working order and very superior bore with excellent rifling. Nipple still has all the original blue.
