Guns Listing ID: 369507 The .256 Newton cartridge was developed in 1913 by Charles Newton as a .30-06 caliber case that was necked down for a .264-inch caliber. This rifle was built as a premier hunting rifle, however, the company went under and ceased production in 1938. This .256 Rifle was manufactured by the Newton Arms CO. prior to the 1938 shutdown and is a rare firearm that does not come around often. There are some scratches on the stock and minor surface rust and pitting on the finish.
