Breathtaking Pre War Winchester 70 in the venerable .30 GOV'T. '06 caliber (30-06) S/N 20*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1939. Remarkable 98% condition throughout with a very uniquely colored stock showing a light streak along toe line and up through fore end. Having handled a great many of these, I can say that this coloration is quite unusual but very interesting and has really grown on me since my initial high brow observation of it! It shows absolutely untouched original lacquer wth no tampering of any sort and is very cool. 24" barrel with excellent bore. The mechanical functions are also flawless and butter smooth as usual. The top of rear receiver bridge remains undrilled. A truly fantastic and unique example of this finest of ALL sporting rifles.
