Incredibly rare and a non cataloged caliber in the standard weight barrel, here is an amazing Model 70 Super Grade in .308 Win. caliber! Winchester introduced this caliber in a 308 Featherweight Super Grade in 1952, with only 101 ever produced. It is fair to assume that there are even fewer standard weight 308 Supers out there, and one must look very closely at those with a critical eye. I have been through this rifle from top to bottom and inside and out. It is legitimate in all regards and would be a worthy and nearly unattainable addition to even the most advanced Model 70 collection. Adding to the extreme rarity and legitamacy of this piece, is the experimental #5 cross hatch stippling pattern on top of the front sight ramp, briefly used on a mere handful of rifles and only about my 4th or 5th in hand. SN 370*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1956. 99% original blue other than the heel of buttplate, with correct rust blued barrel (1955>) and 97% Varnish showing some scattered handling marks towards the buttplate. Bore and mechanics are excellent.
