Description:
A high condition four-inch Official Police in .38 Special.
Has an excellent bore that shows bright, deep lands and grooves with no frosting. Cylinder chambers are all excellent with no carbon fouling on the cylinder face or recoil shield.
Has a clean, crisp trigger with no creep and timing is exact. Very nice trigger pull on this Colt.
The metal surfaces retain 98% original blue with slight silvering at the muzzle and some small freckles on the otherwise bright hammer sides.
The checkered walnut factory grips with silver Rampant Colt medallions are very good, there are some lightly worn areas. Each panel is faintly marked in grease-pencil “422”.
This beautiful 1944 Colt comes in a locking wooden Colt display case which is in excellent condition and a very good condition purple hinge-top factory box. The white numbers on the bottom of the box are faint “734752”. There are a few scuffs and some wear on the edges with the interior markings being strong and legible. The end label matching this 4” barrel, blued, wood-grip, .38 Special Official Police.
