Payment Types Accepted: Description: Antique Model 1808/1816 contract 69 caliber musket manufactured as a flintlock but converted to percussion prior to the civil war. This was one of 16 contract arms makers who manufactured the type 1808 muskets for the US government and identified In Fladermans guide (7th edition on page 440) as manufactured by H. OSBORNE. This musket is correctly marked Springfield in block letters with 2 eagle heads (one on the lock and one on the breach). The full barrel length is 42 inches. The full length 3 band walnut stock is in very good condition. Overall metal parts have a smooth brown patina with some pitting near the Nipple. A very nice 200 plus year old antique musket.
