It has the nickel finished 2 1/4 inch barrel chambered for the 38 Long Rim Fire cartridge. The bore and lands are in bright minty condition. The cylinder chambers are also in bright minty condition. This pistol retains almost all of the original factory nickel plating. The finish would rate a 98% overall condition. The only finish loss is around the muzzle area on the left side. This Colt also retains 96% or better of the original Nitre Blued finish on the hammer, cylinder retaining pin, trigger and screws. The original pearl grips are in as new condition. The factory letter states that this pistol was shipped to B. Kittredge & Co. Of Cincinnati Ohio on February 27th 1875 with factory pearl grips and nickel finish. This first year produced 38 rim fire. In this fine of condition is a real find for the collector! Being factory pearl gripped is also a very nice plus! Most new line revolvers were in the smaller calibers. The 38 and 41 calibers are the most collectable and hardest to find today. This early New Line in this fine of condition would be very hard to top!  Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
