Description:
On Hold Sale Pending.  Circa 1850 antique rifle approximately 40 caliber Remington/J. Young percussion half stock rifle.  The 38 inch octagon barrel has front and rear sights and is marked both Remington and J. Young for John Young who was a gun maker in Easton Pennsylvania and came from a family of well known gun makers. The bore appears to be approximately 40 caliber. The lock is marked Remington and is in functioning condition with a set trigger.  The bolster is missing the nipple.  The tiger stripe stock is in good uncleaned condition but does have a chip at the toe.  Metal parts have a brown patina. Brass patch box, trigger guard and but plate, etc. Have a light uncleaned brown patina.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.  Shipping will be actual cost approximately by usps priority mail.
