Wonderful Parker Field son Double Barrel Flintlock Shotgun circa 1860 Cal .23 gauge .600 bore diameter.
This late,but very well made flintlock fowler 30 inch fine stub Damascus barrels engraved
Parker Field Sons 233 Holborn London on the concave game rib.Bottom of the barrel is fitted with three
plain pipes holding ebony ramrod with brass tilip head and brass tail with steel worm under cap.
London black powder proof for .23 gauge.Slightly inset patent breeches which are iron and nicley scroll
engraved. Wellmade locks with the latest style water proof pans have rollers for reduced friction.
The cocks are flat faced slightly chamfered, reinforced type scroll engraved very cleanly.
Lock plates have rounded tails and feature more of that fine scroll engraving.Trigger plate and thimble
have intricately filed pineapple finials. Trigger guard is also scroll engraved nicley.
Lightly figured dense European walnut buttstock measures 14-1/4 over blued steel buttplate with
scroll engraved top tang.Stock mounts to barrel with captive side nail through oval escutchons.
Heavy wall barrels retain nearlry all fine quality Damascus pattern and have excellant bright
shiny bores through out.
Stock does have some very minor handling marks but does have checkering that is very nice.
