Description:
Palmetto State Armory is one of the most well-known manufacturers of AR-15s and parts and accessories. This is a nice example of one of their PA-15 carbines. The rifle is in excellent shape. The bore is a little dirty but in excellent shape. There are light wear marks on the rear left edge of the charging handle. The finish wear on the left side sling loop indicates the rifle was fitted with a single-point sling at some point. The scope is mounted properly, i.e. well above the receiver enough to give easy access to the charging handle. An extended charging handle might still be a good idea. A Magpul MOE pistol grip has been fitted and inside the storage compartment is a little Torx wrench, presumably for the scope. The scope itself is an excellent Vortex Strike Eagle with 1-8x magnification. There are a few scratches on the rear underside of the scope body. The rifle is equipped with a Brownells 30 round magazine. The forearm or handguard is a Midwest Industries type with full-length picatinny top rail and is M-Lok compatible. It is 15 inches long and so most of the barrel is protected. The rifle has been fitted with a trigger pin retention kit to prevent the trigger and hammer pins from walking out over time. Internally, the rifle uses a bolt featuring the famous Nickle Boron (NiB-X) coating. The advantage of this type coating is that it allow the bolt to operate with little to no oil as the finish effectively makes the bolt self-lubricating. There are many aftermarket options available for the AR-15, probably more than any other type of firearm on planet Earth. What you see here can be modified into almost anything you can think of. This rifle would be suited for 3-gun competition but could just as easily function as a varmint hunting rifle.
