On Hold Sale Pending.I believe this is probably a model 1822 French Charleville style flintlock musket converted to percussion and rifled in approximately 69 rifled musket. Although there are no lock markings I believe this musket is of French manufacture, it could also be a Belgian made musket. I believe it is a 1822 model as there is a date of 1838 on the but plate as well as unit markings. The full 43 inch rifled barrel has a ladder rear sight and top band mounted front sight and a bayonet lug near the muzzle.. The full 3 band wood stock is in excellent condition with a circular French style cartouche on the right side. The Percussion lock functions at both half and full stock. All metal parts have a grey brown patina. Both sling swivels are present but the ramrod is missing. Overall in very good plu condition.
