This Webley No. 2 revolver is well documented and is from the motion picture "Titanic". All providence included.
The left side of the frame is stamped WEBLEY’S No2 442 CF with the Webley "Flying Bullet", “22173” and an "S" for the Stembridge company. The rear of the cylinder is marked “173”. The top-strap is marked “THE BRITISH BULL DOG”. The top of the barrel is marked “W. KAVANAGH DAME ST” with the right side marked “DUBLIN” and bears the British proof marks at each chamber.
The rounded front sight blade is fixed, with notched rear sight.
Grips are two-piece checkered wood and show excellent with light handling marks. Checkering is well-defined. There are no chips or cracks.
The bore shows a fine hazing with sharp rifling.
This Webley retains 99% of the Stembridge finish. There are a few scattered light nicks with much of the finish showing a plum hue, the brightest on the hammer and loading gate. The screw heads range from sharp to lightly tool marked, all have strong slots.
The cylinder rotates until the hammer or trigger is pulled. Cylinder locks-up tight. The cylinder has been sleeved for .38 blanks for filming, the sleeves may be removed.
The Bull Dog comes with a series of documentation from Stembridge / Little John's, where this revolver was sold from the Stembridge Movie Armory Collection. This revolver providence is identified by description and serial number from Cameron’s 1997’s blockbuster movie “Titanic”.
