Here is a nice and honest Remington Model 722 chambered in .222 Remington. Manufactured from 1948-1962, The Remington Model 722 was the short-action version of the popular Remington Model 721. This particular Model 722 was manufactured in 1953 and features a 26" barrel, American walnut sporting stock, polished bolt, fixed front and rear sight, drilled/tapped receiver, and Weaver K3-60B scope. The barreled action of this rifle has been glass bedded. The receiver and barrel retain much of their original blued finish but do show signs of light wear and once-removed surface rust. The polished bolt is in great condition with the exception of slight discoloration of the bolt hand and wear marks along the lugs. The American walnut stock is in great condition for its age, with scattered light handling marks and no visible cracks or chips. The original aluminum butt plate is in excellent condition with no cracking/chipping, just light finish wear around the high edges. The previous owner did modify the stock by adding early QD sling mounts. As stated previously, this rifle is topped with a Weaver K3-60B mounted in Weaver rings. The scope does show signs of handling and wear but the glass is still more than clear. This honest vintage rifle still has plenty of years left in it and would make a fantastic varmint rifle for a hunter of any age.
