Description:
Rare Secretary of the Navy Trophy M-1 Garand.    Serial number 1568792 with a barrel date of November 1963
Directed by the Secretary of the Navy, built by the Armorers at Crane Naval Weapons Depot,  Crane, Indiana,  presented as a Trophy Rifle for U.S. Navy shooting matches.    These are, including this example,   typically pristine,  M-1 Garands,  fitted with a new barrel and brought up to “as new specs.”    This reciever bears the O-66 which means it was a USMC rebuild at one point in its long life.
This rifle is unique in the sense that it has the original shipping container from Crane to the winner,  name is shown on the shipping label,  along with the shipping date of May, 2002.
Additional documentation from  Crane Naval Weapons Depot,  along with Scott Duff evaluation and notes are available.    Pictures of the docs will be added later.
Google and you will find one of these rifles ed by ROCK ISLAND in 2018 with a expected listing price of $2000-3000.    With the rise in values,  and  the rarity of this type Garand,  only true collectors should bid.
Flat rate shipping of $90 to your FFL,  and a 3 day non firing inspection is allowed.   Please ask your questions, and request additional pix.
