Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are extra proud to offer this matched pair of master engraved Colt single actions by Denise Thirion. She, in my humble opinion, is one of the top engravers of recent times. She was born in Belgium, and later worked for Browning during their FN production. At age 20, she married fellow engraver Angelo Bee. They ended up apart, but both living in the USA. Denise worked for Colt in the 1990's, as well as performing much freelance work. These two wheel guns are a fine example of her work. Mostly using a deep relief engraving style, the detail is amazing to behold. The really interesting part is that these two guns are not identical, but are fraternal twins. They are engraved in very different patterns, which gives you twice as much detail to enjoy. They have just enough gold to set off the blue. Not only are the screw heads engraved, but the ends are also engraved. Both started life as a consecutive serial numbered pair of NRA centennial commemeratives with 4 3/4 inch barrels. After a very high level of profuse engraving was applied, they were fitted with one piece genuine ivory grips. Both are in extremely good condition. They came in with the hammers tethered, and they will go out the same way. If you have been looking for the right pair of highly engraved Colts to collect of for investment, but want the catchet of one of the most sought after master engravers of our lifetime, then look no further.
