Description:
SOLD  This Single Action was on a loan account and w.as sent to F. Romer who was hired by Colt to write "THE MAKERS OF HISTORY" booklet.  Written in 1926, it is a story about the history of our country and the part played by Colt...GREAT WESTERN STORIES.  This 5 1/2" Single Action, 45 caliber, with box, and holster was loaned to Romer to use in helping him illustrate the booklet.  The SAA with box and letter was made in 1926.  The pictures are very accurate depicting the condition of this fine and historical Colt.  You will see vivid case color and a very high percentage of the original blue finish.  All numbers match including the last two digits of the serial number which are on the cylinder.  The mechanics are perfect.  Bore is bright and shiny with no issues.  Along with the SAA you will receive two booklets.  One of which is a hard back signed by Romer.  You will also receive the Colt Archives letter, a Heiser double loop holster, and the original Colt single action box.  The box (as provided by Colt) is not marked and has no labels.  For those of you who enjoy having top shelf items in your collection, this one is for you.  It has great history and is an excellent piece.  It will make a super addition to any collection. I have a lot of pictures.  Please let me know if you would like a link.  American 'Arms & Antiques item #2763.
