Description:
A very nice Pre-war Winchester model 12 20 gaiuge that has been beautifully and professionally upgraded. Which includes the following features: A special (slightly wider) .380 width Simmons ventilated rib with two steel beads has been added to the 28" barrel which is stamped as a "Full" choke. The rebluing process was done so well that no buffing is apparent and all of the original stampings remain as clear as original. The highly upgraded wood has been complemented with some outstanding borderless checkering in the Fleur de Les pattern. The checkering appears to be done in approximately 21-23 lines per inch.This kind of craftsmanship is very rare and extremely expensive if you can find it. The LOP is 13 7/8" to the end of the 3/4" Red Pachmayr Old English Pad. The drop at heel is 2 1/ 2". There are a couple tiny imperfections that are shown in the pictures. It appears that this gun has not seen any use since all of this work has been done. There is only the beginning of wear on the magazine tube which is the first place it would occur. Of course the bore is mint and the action is tight. There are more pictures available upon request. This is a gun that shows a high degree of workmanship at a fraction of the cost of replacement.
