S&W Military & Police Pre-Model 10, Manufactured in 1552-1955 This handgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. The cylinder has a faint turn-line, mostly not through the finish. The barrel has some thinning at the muzzle. The cylinder release has some thinning. The cylinder has some thinning on the edges, most noticeable at the corners formed by the flutes at the front. The hammer and trigger have strong case color. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks up well on each chamber. The single-action trigger is crisp and the double action is smooth. Included is a gold S&W box with paper and cleaning rod. The grips are two-piece checkered walnut Magna stocks with S&W medallions at their tops and smooth diamonds around the grip screw escutcheons the grips are in about Very Good-Fine condition. The left side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON” and the right side of the barrel is marked “38 S.&W. SPECIAL CTG.”. The yoke cut is marked “H / 18669 / 4”. The butt is marked “C273452”. The sideplate has a large trade mark S&W logo and the frame’s right side has the four line Marcas Registradas address. The yoke and sides of the grip frame have inspection marks. The rear face of the cylinder is marked "C 273452" and the front face of the ejector is marked “273452”. The bottom of the barrel is marked “C 273452” above the ejector. The inside of the right grip panel is stamped "273 / 452".
