Here Is A British P1853 Snider Enfield Conversion Egyptian Police Shotgun. This Is A Smooth Bore 24 Guage w/ The Barrel Measuring 25 3/4". Overall Length Is 44". These Egyptian Police Firearms Were Converted In The 1870's From Obsolete Snider Rifles. Egypt Was A British Protectorate During This Period. This Firearm Has Not Been Cleaned And Retains The Original Dark Patina On Both The Metal & Wood. There Are Faint Traces Of British Markings Which Can Be Viewed In The Photos. The Prominent Markings Are In Farsi. There Is A Cresent Moon And EP (Egyptian Police) Marking On The Side Plate. This Is A Hinged Breechblock And The Latch Does Lock. The Action Functions Correctly. The Firearm Has One Barrel Band. There Is No Firing Pin Or Rod. There Is A Drill Hole In The Rail Which Probably Was Used For A Sling. The Stock Is In Very Good Condition w/ No Cracks.
